Day 370 and sharing too much

Tasha got angry with me today because someone told her that I had written on the blog that she didn't get her driver's permit the first time. So that has made me realize that even though I started this blog, my family may not like me sharing the stuff I do about them. I share it because I care and this is my way of journaling about stuff going on in my life. But now I realize that I need to be careful about what I share. I started the blog, not my kids or even Tom.

Have a great week everyone.

We all have learned this hard lesson if we are bloggers.
I got in trouble with my in-laws for posting a photo of my husband's newborn nephew and his 2-year-old niece holding the baby. I didn't even consider that they'd want to give permission, but it was a huge oversight on my part, not to be sensitive to their concerns about strangers viewing their children.
And of course, I've gotten in trouble with my husband if I've written about things that cast a spotlight on him.
It's a fine line.
Don't beat yourself up, though. If there was no malice in your heart, then just chalk it up to a learning experience, apologize and move on. :-)
Hope this encourages you!

I never thought about it that way, but I understand her feelings. Of course, I know how you feel. You know me well enough to know that I have a knack for blurting out things that should be kept private! I have really tried to improve on that over the past few years, but sometimes that stuff just pops out before I have a chance to think!

I read Jeff's blog for about a year before I started mine, and he at first was very protective of his family's privacy. After awhile, they didn't mind being the subjects of his posts. I asked my family and they were okay with it. I did one post, though, about how Randy had taken over the house for his work, complete with pictures, and there was a huge 'discussion' after which I deleted the post.

Thanks Heidi and Linda. Just knowing I"m not alone makes me feel better. Yesterday I was so upset that I was ready to shut the whole thing down.

Di, Tasha inherited that particular gene, but I guess I won't talk about that on here. LOL.
