Day 132 and my first free Saturday in ages!

Well today has been my first free Saturday in ages and I must say, it has been glorious! I slept in until about 8:30, then I've been sitting around reading, watched a little TV, and cleaned out my bedroom closet. The contractor is here working in the room off the kitchen today. Tom & I had to empty that room last night and then I had to empty the laundry room today so he could bring stuff through it this morning. So that will be a perfect chance to straighten, clean, and organize everything as I put it back. Next I think I'm going to work some more on getting my summer curriculum ready. I'll have to keep these little darlings busy or lose my mind! LOL!

Tom & I ate hoagie sandwiches for lunch, and if the weather cooperates, we're planning on grilling out for supper. Right now, that's not looking good. I had bought some smoked sausage, hot dogs, and I had hamburger meat. I was going to have Tom grill it all up and then have it for different meals through the weekend.

Day 131 and my Baby is in Driver's Ed!

Tasha started Driver's ed classes yesterday! We just found out Tuesday that they were going to let her take them. Since she's not 15 until July, we thought she was going to have to wait until next summer (they no longer offer it during the school year). Anyway, they're letting her take the classroom part now and then she'll do the driving part after she turns 15 in July. The only bad thing is that this meant that I have to come up with $125 to pay for the class. I sure would have liked some notice so that I could have been saving back for it! So anyway, I am going to take the $95 I made from selling my humanities books, and $30 I'll be making today for a drop-in child and that will be enough to pay for it. It's a bummer not to be able to send that $95 towards one of the debts, but it's a relief to be able to pay for the class.

The baby EF is down to $654 after Josh's car repairs. It was $188 for the parts and $84 for the labor. Once again, we are thanking God for the baby EF! Now we have to get to work trying to build it back up. I sure hope we are done using it for a while. Goodness!

I cannot tell you how excited I am about this weekend. I have nowhere to go and nothing to do except go to church on Sunday! No homework, no garage sale, no graduation party, nothing! I plan to do lots of relaxing and maybe try to get some organizing done around the house. Have a happy weekend, everyone!

Day 130 and Happy Birthday to Me! LOL!

Well today is my 42nd birthday! Can you believe that? I can't! I feel so much younger. Well...most of the time. LOL.

Tom wants to take me out to supper and I have to admit, after the morning I've just had, I don't really want to cook. Maybe I'll just make Tom cook. Which might mean going out to supper. LOL.

Today was the last day of school for the kids. I have a pretty full house today, and getting everyone settled down for naptime was quite an adventure. I felt like I'd run a marathon by the time I put them back on their mats about 25 times each. Phew! My naptimes will probably be pretty crazy over the next 3 months so I may have to start doing most of my blogging in the evenings or early in the mornings.

Day 129 and Those "Blah" Nights

Well, last night was one of those blah nights where in the olden days, I'd have done everything to justify having Tom bring something home for supper, such as "I'm too tired", "I don't feel good", "I don't have anything laid out". But, that was in the old days. Well, actually, it was yesterday too. I tried really hard to talk myself into it. LOL. But seriously, I've been trying to get stuff for at least one or two convenience meals when I get groceries. So I heated up some grilled chicken soup and a loaf of garlic bread for supper. It was good, filling, and super easy. Do you have a plan for those nights where you just don't want to cook? Those nights where you are really tired, forgot to put something out, you don't feel good-whatever the reason is. The soup and the bread cost less than $5 combined, much less than a fast food meal of $20 or more. So I am proud of me!

My supper plan for tonight is grilled chicken salad. I got some marinade at Aldi's and I tenderized the chicken this morning and it is marinating right now. I'll cook it on the George Foreman grill and that's another fairly quick & easy meal.

Day 128...continued

Well, right now the monitor is back to looking normal, not all blurry and weird. So I don't know what was going on with it or what is going on with it. But for right now I'm just happy it's back to normal.

Josh's car is not starting, may be the fuel pump, we're still waiting to find out. These things sure do make me glad for that emergency fund!

Let's see, we had a great night out last night at El Chico's for Di's birthday. We won't talk about how much the meal cost, but it was totally worth it, it was very good and the server did a great job, especially with a big group. Hopefully that's it on eating out for a while, or going anywhere for a while. I put over 250 miles on my van from Saturday to last night between going to the hospital, church twice on Sunday, soccer game in Enid, and dinner in Enid. Then Tom had to take my van today so Josh could take his car to work tonight. That leaves me here without a vehicle tonight. I don't have anywhere to go, but I hate not being able to go there. LOL!

Day 128 and monitor troubles

My computer monitor seems to be having trouble this morning. In case it goes out completely, I wanted to post real quick and let everyone know.

Day 127 and Happy Birthday to Di!

Well, today I just want to wish a very happy birthday to my sister-in-law and one of my closest friends, Di! It's a milestone birthday and I hope she has a great one!

This last few days have not been good eating days. I've eaten way too much of stuff that I should not have. I have got to get myself back on track! Last week, I was listening to a conversation at a meeting where one of the ladies was talking about a family member who had diabetes and didn't take care of herself. The lady just did not understand why she didn't just do it. Chances are, the family member doesn't know either. I don't understand why eating is such an issue with me and has been for as long as I can remember. I'm going to be praying for God to give me the strength to take better care of myself and break some of these bad habits.

Day 126 and a new Sunday night class at church

So I don't remember if I mentioned that one of our FPU members started a new Sunday night discipleship training class at church. It is on being wise with the money that God blesses us with. I've only got to go once, last week was baccalaureate and we missed evening church. I think it's going to be a lot of fun and I'm sure we'll all learn a lot. I'm very excited about it. Guess what else? Tom got a raise at work! I guess that is one of the ways that God is going to be take care of our needs throughout the summer!
