Day 439 and this just looks wrong!

What's wrong with this picture? I mean besides the fact that our poor tree is broken in half? Oh yeah, it must be the flowers all over the tree covered in ice and snow! Our poor, pretty tree!

Day 438 and Welcome to Oklahoma

Life with the weather is rarely boring in Oklahoma, that's for sure. It can storm, rain, hail, lightning, snow, and blow-all in the same day! Today in Oklahoma we are experiencing all kinds of weather across the state. Let's just hope that it does not get as bad as predicted. Geesh. Isn't it almost April???????

Tomorrow, I'm scheduled to attend a child care conference in Enid (that will depend on the weather of course) and I've got homework to finish up by Sunday night. So don't be surprised if you don't hear from me this weekend. If not, I'll see you all on Monday with an update on our Sunday night FPU class.

Doesn't that "Car loan-paid" look wonderful?! WOW!

The weathermen are calling for a major winter storm for us this weekend. I really, really, really hope they're wrong. I've heard everything from 3 inches to 3 feet of snow, so who knows? Whatever the case is, we have food in the pantry and fridge/freezers, a gas stove to cook with, and $'s in the emergency fund if we need them. So I guess we're as ready as we can get.

Day 436 and finally, a Goal Update!

Sorry it has taken me so long to do this. Days are speeding by me like crazy!

Goal #1: Continue our journey towards financial peace.
We are still working on that. As I mentioned yesterday, the baby EF is up to $360 and we have enough money ($400 for the worst case scenario) put aside to repair Tom's car. We have started the new Financial Peace University classes and I am super excited about them. Sometime this week I will try to post a debt update.

Goal #2: Get more organized in my home and business.
Well this one is not going so well. My desk is piled up again and I am not keeping up with stuff like I should. But...I think I've had good reason to slack off a little with all the personal stuff going on. The best thing to do is just pick up again and keep trying, right?

Goal #3: Have a more positive attitude.
This one is coming along pretty good. I have been remembering to write in my Joy Journal. Not everyday, but more frequently. Several times when I've been upset or annoyed about something, I've managed to turn my attitude around about it instead of letting it bother me for days. So I'll keep working on it.

So there you have it...the latest on my goals for this year. It's almost the end of March and I'm still working on them so that in itself is huge!

Dayy 435 and some EF progress

I got my REWARD check today (WOOHOO!!!!). This is a program ran through the state to reward child care providers who remain in business consistently and obtain certain levels of education. Anyway, I put enough in the fund to fix Tom's car so we can get it fixed now. The mechanic said it would be a few days before he could get to it, but the money is there. I also added some to the baby EF to bring it up to $360. Some of the other money I will give, some I will put back for Serenity & Josh's birthday gifts (probably money, LOL). Now that the money is put aside for Tom's car, we can get back to building up that baby EF.

Tom & I have got up and exercised the last two mornings. GO US!

Day 434 and Blowing Away

My goodness, the wind was really howling in Oklahoma today. I thought I was going to have to put rocks in the kid's pockets to keep them from blowing away. LOL.

Last night's FPU class was on Relating with Money. It is a very interesting class and talks a lot about working with your spouse to set up a budget that you can both agree on. Tom & I have come a long way with that, but still have work to do. I'm the 'nerd' in the relationship which means I set up the budget and then Tom (the 'free spirit') and I have a budget meeting to go over it. I tend to be very sensitive about the budget and it has been known to start some arguments. Say some prayers that I can continue to work getting past that.

I have a busy few weeks ahead of me so I need to tackle some homework tonight.
