Day 237 and up to my eyeballs in homework

Well, the good news is that I got the one assignment that I had done the wrong unit of finished and submitted today (the RIGHT one),and I've started on another one. Oh, and if you're wondering, I did realize it before I submitted it. Thank goodness! When I finish that one, I have to decide on topics for final papers in both classes, write a thesis statement, and find 5 references for each one. This is all due by midnight tomorrow. Think I'll make it? LOL. Pray for me tonight and tomorrow!

Well, an update on my classes. I discovered tonight that I had been working on the wrong unit's assignment for one of my classes, and I was about halfway done. I was so ticked off at myself that I needed a break. I got out and went and got my Wal-Mart shopping done. I did have a breakthrough on the assignment that I was having so much trouble with last night and finished it today. But I'm back to square one in the other class. Argh!

Day 235 and my first emotional breakdown of the new semester

Well, the moment that Tom has been anxiously waiting for arrived tonight. I had my first emotional breakdown of the semester. Ugh. I still have so much homework to do by Sunday. That plus the other obligations I have this weekend are stressing me out. I'm hoping that a good night's sleep will improve my perspective and I won't feel so overwhelmed and stressed tomorrow.

Day 234 and Overcome with emotion

Today, I just had four kids during the day, which after the last few weeks felt almost like a day off. LOL. Anyway, at naptime, one of the little guys always wants me to sit down beside him and rub his back as he goes to sleep. I try to oblige when I can. After I stopped rubbing his back, but was still sitting by him, he slipped his hand into mine, and at that moment, I was just overcome with emotion and love for my job. I looked around the room. Three of the four kids here today have been with me since they were infants. I've watched (and am still watching) them grow into their own distinct personalities. I am so lucky to get to do a job where I spend my days with children, watching them grow. In less than a year, I know one of these children will not be coming to me anymore as he starts pre-k. His family has been with me since 2001. It will leave a big hole in my heart when they leave. But it will give me the chance to love new children and families, so I'll be okay. I'll be the first to admit that while I love my job, I don't always like it. It's hard work, it's exhausting, and sometimes it's thankless. But feeling that little hand in mine today, well that makes those harder days worthwhile.

Back to my homework! I'm making progress, but not as quickly as I'd like (big surprise there, right? LOL)

Day 233 and Tuesday that was like a Monday

Well, was anyone else's Tuesday just like a Monday, only worse today? LOL. My kids were kind of cranky and fighting and then to top it off, it was pouring down rain after school and we were stuck inside. Blah!

As I mentioned in the comment section yesterday, we did end up eating at home last night. It was hard, but we did it! Tom stopped at the grocery store today and grabbed something quick to fix tonight so we (sort of) won the battle again today. I need to decide on something for supper tomorrow night now so I don't feel the urge again. Or hopefully not as strongly anyway. HA!

I need to get back to my homework for a while before I go to bed. Tomorrow's Wednesday already!

Day 232 and Flies by fast

Boy, weekends, even 3 day ones fly by so fast! I have got some work done on my homework today, but I am feeling very frustrated and overwhelmed right now. I've got a busy weekend next week and these assignments are due on Sunday so I'd really like to have them mostly done by Friday. So hopefully I'll have a breakthrough soon!

I'm fighting off the temptation to eat out tonight. I keep telling myself that we "deserve" it. I'll let you know how that battle turns out. LOL.

Well, guess I should dive back into my homework now...

Day 231 and No Eating out this weekend

We've done great at our no eating out goal the last several days. It's always hardest on the weekends, especially a long weekend where we're not feeling the greatest (Tom had a bad headache and my sinuses, UGH!). Anyway, Tom grilled up hamburgers, polish sausage, and hot dogs yesterday. I browned up a couple of packages of the hamburger meat I had bought on Friday night and started a pot of chili with some of it. So we had hamburgers for supper last night, polish sausage after church today, and chili dogs tonight. Tomorrow, we're having burritos made with leftover taco meat and beans mixture and chili on top for lunch, and then soup for supper. Yum!

We're doing pretty good at getting things caught up. I think by mid-September everything should be caught up to where it's supposed to be.

Well, I need to get back to my homework!
