Smoothies

Knowing that I need to get more calcium and milk into my diet, I've been making smoothies the last few days, using yogurt, milk, ice, and sweetener. Some of the days I added fruits, but Thursday night, I added cocoa powder and made chocolate ones. Yum. I don't really follow a recipe. I've been putting in about 1/2 cup yogurt, some milk, ice cubes and about 6 packets of sweetener. They are very filling and the yogurt is a good source of protein, too. Going to try to get some Greek yogurt when I shop this weekend since it's supposed to have even more protein in it. Figure that will make a good breakfast or mid-morning snack for me. Don't like the Greek yogurt by itself but mixed into a smoothie, it should be good!

when I worked at Peachwave, for breakfast I always mixed fresh blueberries with organic granola (it's at walmart) and plain original yogurt.
The blueberries are a great source of antioxidents (and also speculated to improve your memory)
The granola is good not only because it's organic & free of pesticides or additives, but also high in fiber and iron....

just one of my favorite combos! don't know if you like blueberries though! I think it would go fine with greek yogurt since the milk & sweetness of the granola will lighten up the strong taste

Hiley! I love blueberries! What section of the store would that granola be located so I can check it out?

Brenda, they are yummy! Kinda helps with the sweet tooth, too. :)

When I went, it was in the cereal section (as it's technically an organic cereal)
The name is Cascadian Farms Organic Granola and I think we bought the oats & honey kind =)
I think it's around $3 so you might search for some coupons for it....
