Day 296 and exercise your right to vote today!

Well, if you haven't already, please exercise your right to vote today. We are lucky to live in a country where we are allowed to participate in our government. Plus I always figure if I vote, I have a right to gripe about it when things don't go my way. LOL!

It's interesting how different children raised in the same household turn out to be. Serenity is a political science major and really into the election, and is driving all the way home to vote. She didn't want her first presidential election voting experience to be by absentee ballot. She's taking a class this semester about the election and got to take exit polls in Norman this morning as part of her class. Josh on the other hand, hasn't even registered to vote and says he never plans to vote. He thinks it's "stupid". Well, I certainly don't agree with him, but you know what, he has the right to feel that way if he wishes. Natasha, it's too early to tell. She seems interested in the election process and the candidates, so that's good. However different they may be, I love and respect them for who they are and what they believe.

And if I haven't said it enough, I will be glad when this election is over!

Well, I voted, but this is one time that I really didn't feel great afterwards. I am just really glad that this election is over, whatever the results.

Jess drove home to vote also. No matter who you were behind in this election, I have to say it was pretty amazing. I hope that because of it our next generation will, as Obama said, "pull up your pants" and get real about the fact that they are going to inherit this country and need to take an active role in how it's run. I'm going to hop off my soap box now.

Di, I wasn't very wild about either candidate. I had the hardest time deciding who to vote for. But I'm glad it's over and I'm just praying for President-elect Obama. He's definitely got his work cut out for him.

Linda, it's great that Jess takes this stuff seriously too. I love the pull up your pants comment. LOL.
