I'm a middle-aged woman determined to get out of debt. My husband and I are going through Financial Peace University (again!) through our church. As Dave Ramsey says, this isn't a microwave, it's a slow cooker. Come with me on my journey!

Day 595 and be careful what you wish for
Yesterday I wished that we knew one way or another about the van. Today we know, and it is not good. As long as I didn't know, I could still hold out hope that it was fixable. LOL. Anyway, the cam is broken, which means a new engine. However, Napa could not find a new or rebuilt engine, which I guess makes the decision easier. Just say some prayers for us, please. I'm feeling very defeated today. I am off to read my Bible and to let the Lord get me through it.

I am so sorry about the van! I was really praying it would be something fairly cheap and easy! It sounds now like it is time for those last rites you mentioned. It has really been a good vehicle for you for a long time, though. I know it seemed like it was at Mark's a lot, but compared to a lot of vehicles that I sell parts for, you haven't had a lot of costly repairs.
Yeah, I"m really sorry too. Not really surprised though. Sometimes it seems as if Murphy follows us around seeing what he can do. LOL.
Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. I was hoping it would be something easy, too. Sounds like a good time to keep your bible close and the Lord even closer. Sometimes don't you just want to put a boot in Murphy's . . . you know.
